Estimator (General Contracting Construction)

About the Company: 

Our client is an established Construction & Restoration company which specializes in commercial/industrial /institutional construction in the demolition, excavation, concrete forming/finishing & waterproofing sectors.

They are currently seeking for an experienced Estimator to join their team on a Freelance and/or Permanent basis.

Responsibilities and Job Functions:

• Manage and coordinate construction projects including: demolition, concrete, general contract, excavation, etc.
• Estimate the cost of materials, labour, and equipment for construction projects from contract bids, quotations, drawings and specifications
• Decide how the tendering procedure will work, recommend tenders, and conduct negotiations
• Keep track of costs and money spent during a project
• Keep a list of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
• Work with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors
• Meeting tight deadlines
• Reports to General Manager

Requirements:

Min 3+ years of recent and relevant experience working as a Estimator for construction projects; ability to price jobs and show how cost was formulated

Ability to read and interpret drawings

Excellent computer and communication skills

Excellent problem solving skills

Must be able to work independently and under pressure

Compensation:

Up to $80k+ (commensurate with experience)
