About the Company:

Our client is a large, busy and established mechanical company that provides a full line of products and services for HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing. They have been operating successfully for over 40 years in new home construction.

They are currently seeking for an experienced Payroll Clerk to join their dynamic team, offering room for growth and working with a great team of people!

Responsibilities:

  • Processing weekly payroll for approximately 250 staff members
  • Maintenance of employee files
  • Preparing WSIB remittances
  • Management of employee benefits
  • Management of Union salary and benefits
  • Processing T4, ROE, and other payroll forms
  • Preparing payroll reports
  • Updating attendance forms for office employees
  • Providing guidance to employees and supervisors with any payroll-related questions
  • Maintaining AP files
  • Communicating with vendors regarding discrepancies and payment status
  • Processing subcontractors’ invoices and payments
  • Maintenance of subcontractor files, including contracts and pay rates
  • Assisting with general accounting duties when necessary

Requirements:

  • Experience in A/P and Payroll, basic Accounting (construction experience preferred)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to work in office, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Excellent computer and customer service skills
  • Professional with a positive attitude

Compensation:

Up to $65,000 (based on experience)
