About the Company
Our client is a mid-sized mechanical contracting company located in Brampton, ON and specializing in HVAC Mechanical Maintenance Service Programs installing, servicing and maintaining all Hydronic Heating, Chilled Water, Plumbing and HVAC Systems in commercial and large residential.
Major projects and services include: Pan-AM games, Department of National Defense Armouries, York Regional District School Board, Peel Region School Board and Toronto District School Board.
They are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join their plumbing division.
Responsibilities:
– Responsible for gathering all data required in preparing lump sum, unit rate and cost plus detailed estimates, as well as conceptual estimating, cost analysis and estimate coordination for projects ranging from $200,000 to $5,000,000.
– Construct, review, and evaluate material takeoffs (MTO), as well as construction labour rates and subcontract cost estimates and proposals.
– Perform productivity analysis of cost estimates, prepare contingency, escalation, and reconciliation’s for estimates; perform comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between projects; prepare management presentations and develop an estimate basis.
– Source best prices and issue purchase orders for equipment and materials for projects, as well as, tender projects to subtrades and award purchase orders to secure work.
– Source and develop relationships with vendors and subcontractors, negotiate and secure NET pricing for materials.
– Coordinate equipment and material deliveries, maintain records of all materials used, and log progress made on the job in line with guidelines.
– Manage schedules with clients and manpower to assure the completion of daily service calls and coordinate labour hours and material costs for customer billing; provide oversight of and directions to sub-trades.
– Promote and monitor compliance with company’s Health & Safety program as H/S worker’s representative by conducting quarterly meetings to inform and keep workers current with new and existing policies.
Requirements:
– Experience with hand-on plumbing and/or working with plumbing materials
– Ability to work in office Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm
– Good customer service and communication skills
– Ability to work independently and as a team
