Mechanical Estimator

About the Company:

Our client is an established and successful mechanical company located in Toronto, with large, long term, commercial projects all around the GTA. They specialize in sheet metal, HVAC, Plumbing, fabrication and heating systems. They have recently secured many projects and are looking for an experienced, Senior Mechanical Estimator to join their busy and growing team!

Responsibilities:

• Strong understanding and ability to accurately estimate sheet metal, plumbing, piping and HVAC systems
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints, drawings, plans, specifications, tender documents, contracts, as well as perform detailed reviews of subcontractor and vendor bids
• Ability to assess and report on, risk implications, estimating / bidding metrics, value engineering concepts, and equipment and subcontractor pricing
• Perform takeoffs and estimate preparations
• Liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels during the bid process and for feedback and additional opportunities
• Experience in design-build/assist budget developments, walk-throughs, project turnovers / kick offs, and various procurement activities

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in mechanical estimating (Sheet Metal, HVAC and Plumbing preferred)
• Exceptional computer skills and fluency in using Bluebeam, Procore and MS office suite programs; included MS Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication with attention to detail, and a professional work ethic
