About the Company
Our client is a well known, established general contractor and subcontractor who provides mechanical services to the industrial, commercial and institutional markets in the GTA. They are recognized for their highly skilled and knowledge in all aspects of mechanical systems including: welding, plumbing, piping, gas, chiller and cooling installations, prefabrications, HVAC, sheet metal and boilers.
They are currently looking to hire an experienced Service or Mechanical Estimator to join their dynamic and talented team! This is an in office position with working hours of 7:30am to 4:30pm.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist the Director, Service and Small Projects with the oversight of tenders for all aspects of pricing operations
- Complete pricing for service technician recommendations and work orders
- Review projects being bid on with the Director prior to closing
- Estimate and take off jobs as per plans and specifications
- Complete pricing call outs to subcontractors and suppliers
- Manage tender information; ensure information is communicated to the subcontractors, suppliers and estimating staff
- Assist other estimators with pricing and tender closings as needed
- Attend site visits/walkthrough for projects
- Assist in project turn0over meetings with Project Managers
- Break down estimates into cost codes for Accounting and Project Managers
- Ensure digital copies of all drawings, quotes and tender documents are filed electronically
- Develop business connections with Consultants and Clients to bring additional work in
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working in mechanical estimation
- Ability to read drawings
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge using Accubid software
- Attention to detail and time management skills
