Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plasma Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment and other related machinery to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The Plasma Operator plays a crucial part in ensuring precision and safety in all manufacturing processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of production operations.

Duties

  • Set up and operate plasma cutting machines, including CNC plasma cutters, ensuring accurate cuts according to blueprints and specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for precise fabrication
  • Utilize CNC programming skills to adjust machine parameters for optimal performance
  • Perform routine maintenance on plasma cutting equipment and other machinery such as press brake machines, CNC mills, lathes, and welding tools
  • Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, and measurement devices to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Assist with assembly processes as needed, ensuring parts meet quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols
  • Use mechanical knowledge and hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments on machinery

Skills

  • Proficiency in plasma cutting operations with experience in running Thermo-dynamtics software
  • Experience with operating, loading and unloading plasma table
  • Ability to operate material handling and preparation
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical drawings for precise fabrication
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during setup and inspection
  • Experience with welding techniques is a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools for assembly or repairs
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and procedures
