Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plasma Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating plasma cutting equipment and other related machinery to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings. The Plasma Operator plays a crucial part in ensuring precision and safety in all manufacturing processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of production operations.
Duties
- Set up and operate plasma cutting machines, including CNC plasma cutters, ensuring accurate cuts according to blueprints and specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for precise fabrication
- Utilize CNC programming skills to adjust machine parameters for optimal performance
- Perform routine maintenance on plasma cutting equipment and other machinery such as press brake machines, CNC mills, lathes, and welding tools
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, hand tools, and measurement devices to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Assist with assembly processes as needed, ensuring parts meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols
- Use mechanical knowledge and hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments on machinery
Skills
- Proficiency in plasma cutting operations with experience in running Thermo-dynamtics software
- Experience with operating, loading and unloading plasma table
- Ability to operate material handling and preparation
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical drawings for precise fabrication
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during setup and inspection
- Experience with welding techniques is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools for assembly or repairs
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and procedures
