Corporate Accountant – Mechanical construction

About the Company

Our client is a well known, established general contractor and subcontractor who provides mechanical services to the industrial, commercial and institutional markets in the GTA. They are recognized for their highly skilled and knowledge in all aspects of mechanical systems including: welding, plumbing, piping, gas, chiller and cooling installations, prefabrications, HVAC, sheet metal and boilers.

They are currently looking to hire an experienced Corporate Accountant to assist with the general accounting for the organization. The successful candidate should posses a valid CPA, or working toward an accounting license. This is an in office job with working hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities and Duties

·       Ability to understand and prepare a Job Cost Report; track and analyze all expenses associated with a specific project or job

·       Prepare and reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly reports and statements

·       Maintain financial records; occasional preparation of accounts payable and receivables

·       Perform cost analyses, reviewing purchase orders, invoices and supplier contracts

·       Comply with all government rules and regulations

·       Assist with analyzing financial data in order to make data-driven decisions

·       Inventory cost management

·       Auditing financial information

·       Any other accounting duties as requested

Qualifications

·       Minimum of 2+ years experience working as an Accountant within the construction industry

·       CPA License or equivalent; can be working toward a relevant license

·       Strong understanding of preparing a Job Cost Report

·       Experience with accounts payables

·       Strong attention to detail

·       Experience using Excel and QuickBooks; experience Jonas software is as asset

·       Team player and ability to work independently
